L16 Pre-sales Update
Happy 2016! I’m Dave Grannan, CEO and co-founder of Light. As we move into the new year, I'd like to officially welcome you to the Light family. We are incredibly grateful for our enthusiastic community and early supporters who pre-ordered a Light L16 camera.
Last October, we started taking pre-orders for the L16. We chose the pre-order model in order to engage the photographic community in ongoing product development, establish product demand, and activate our global supply chain. In the last three months, our pre-order sales have wildly outpaced our initial forecast. As a result, I’m announcing that we are on pace to sell out of our entire pre-order allotment of L16 cameras by the end of this week.
Once the L16 pre-order window has closed, anyone interested in purchasing an L16 will need to wait until standard sales begin later this year. (To be notified when that occurs, sign up for email notifications.)
We are looking forward to shipping cameras to all of our customers who have pre-ordered the L16 before the end of 2016. We’ll continue to keep everyone updated on our progress on our company blog, Spotlight, on our new photo blog, Captured, and through our social channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
We’re humbled to see the overwhelming demand for what we’ve built. Rajiv and I founded Light to make beautiful photography more accessible than ever before, and we are so grateful for our early customers and strong community of supporters. We hope that the technology behind the L16 inspires an entirely new future for optics, and in 2016 we are focused on delivering an impeccably produced product to enable this to happen.
If you’d like to meet us in person, you can check out our event calendar for a list of shows and regional meet-ups we plan to attend. We’ll also be at CES in Las Vegas this week. If you’d like to arrange a meeting, please send us an email and we'll let you know where we'll be.
